Parque Verano Azul was built as a tribute to the 80's cult
Spanish TV series Verano Azul which firmly put Nerja on map.
The series featured a boat "La Dorada" which has been
restored and is now in place at the entrance to the park. You
will find many references to the series all over Nerja in
street names and in various props that have been preserved
from the series.
The park which often plays host to events such as Nerja
residents day and various other festivals is a great place to
take the young ones for an hour or so to burn off a bit of
energy. There are all sorts or slides, swings, climbing
frames etc.
Surprisingly enough you will also find some very odd play
ground equipment designed specifically for fitness and well
being suitable for all ages. The park also has some Boules/Petanque
areas as well as a small kiosk serving cool drinks and
confectionery.
There is ample parking most of the time apart from
Tuesdays when the street market is on.
How
much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing!
Where is it?
Parque Verano Azul is situated on the western side of Nerja
on the right hand side of the road as you go down Calle
Antonio Ferrand Chanquete who just out of interest was one
of the leading charters in the series and lived in the
boat.
