El Pinarillo is a picnic and barbeque area set in the heart of Nerja's National Park. There are purpose built barbeque areas, plenty of parking and play areas for the kids. Dad can get the barbeque going whilst the rest of the family can go off exploring. Forget the Nerja Caves, go find some of your own! There are plenty! Some previously inhabited and others still inhabited...but not by people! In early summer you can expect to find the air thick with butterflies. Lizards and snakes will be sunning themselves in the early morning sun and you may be lucky enough to see the Andalucian mountain goat. Many walkers and ramblers start their day off here being an ideal base to park up and use the facilities. The area is open from mid October through to early June. It is closed in the summer months due to the potential fire risk. El Pinarillo provides a gateway in to the
National Park and there are many beautiful walks that can be
taken from the area. We can provide guided walks that will take
you into the mountains and valleys beyond exploring natural
springs, cascading waterfalls and breath taking views.
Many of our Jeep Tours start off in El Pinarillo
with a short walk of the area followed by a quick drink (mulled
wine in winter) before carrying on the days exciting adventure.
El Pinarillo is about 5km’s in land from the
Nerja Caves. The track starts on the left of the main entrance to
Nerja caves and winds up to the picnic area. There is a large map
on display by the entrance. There are no entrance fees but you will need to provide charcoal for your barbeque. Clothing Advice We would always recommend that you carry a light rain mac in the cooler months and anything else that you normally bring for a family picnic. How to Book There are no booking fees and the area is free to use.
