Majestic in its design, this 3 bedroom villa with a private pool is surrounded by 3000m2 of traditional Spanish, terraced gardens offering and a selection of fruit trees and more importantly peaceful tranquility and privacy. It is located on top a hill boasting, on one side, stunning views of the Mediterranean sea, the quaint village of Frigiliana and the coastal town of Nerja, and on the other the most fantastic view of the mountains and natural park. Driving time to Nerja is approximately 20 minutes and Frigiliana only 15 minutes. AC and WIFI included in rental price


This beautiful stand-alone castle-like property is a fantastic mix of old and new, classic and rustic. El Castillo boasts 360 degree views including those of the mountains and Natural Park, as well as great sea views which on clear days, can even offer views of Morocco, North Africa. The villa is located at the highest point of the hill on which it is situated and is reached via a concrete track which stems off from a tarmac country road. With private parking for approximately 3 cars, you enter through private large iron gates, up a paved drive. Up a set of steps you then approach the front of the villa, and see the first of the amazing views. The swimming pool is located at the front of the property surrounded by a terracotta paved out-side area with six sun beds and a large outside dining table for up to 6 people. On the left of the property you will find the large open, built-in BBQ area located in front of the covered porch which supplies much appreciated shade during the hottest parts of the day. If you walk around the property you will find another private seating area with four iron chairs and a table, which has been built to stand away from the edge of the hill offering second-to-none views of the mountains, great for an evening drink and watching the sun set

Dining room:
Open plan dining room, very spacious, light and airy, large dining table with six chairs, large wooden cabinet with grand mirror and over hanging table light. An unusual open fire place / chimney with a tiles bench and chairs, divides the lounge and the dining room and whilst it is unlikely to be used during the summer month, it is a cosy place to gather round during the winter.

Lounge:
Big and spacious living area, one large two seater sofa, as well as a great corner sofa. Central coffee table, and wooden shelves and cabinets. Two gas heaters, music system and TV with Satellite channels. Large south facing windows for great views and plenty of light.

Kitchen:
Large spacious kitchen open to the dining room, fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, electric hob, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and large double fridge freezer. The kitchen is equipped to cater for 6+ people with a great range of cutlery, crockery, glasses, cups, mugs and wine glasses, as well as all the key kitchen utensils. Kitchen windows look out onto the mountains and Natural Park and over look the large private swimming pool.

Bedroom 1:
Large, spacious master bedroom with double bed, two bed-side tables with wall mounted bed side lights. Large chest of draws and arm chair. A private door onto the upstairs terrace and 5 arched, east and south facing windows, filtering plenty of light.

Bedroom 2
Double bed, with wall mounted bedside lights and a bed side table on either side. Large double cupboards and private door onto the upstairs, outside terrace. Air conditioning, ceiling light and ceiling fan.

Bedroom 3
A twin room, with great light, from 5 arched shaped windows overlooking the mountains of the natural park. A big chest of drawers, one bedside table between the two beds and wall mounted bedside lights. Ceiling light and fan as well as air conditioning.

Bathroom 1
Downstairs bathroom, WC with sink and mirror.

Bathroom 2
Large upstairs bathroom, with large walk in shower, as well as large bathtub. WC, sink, mirror, shelves and under-sink cabinet.


Additional : Iron and ironing board, washing machine in the garage, internal washing line inside the garage.

  • My husband and I have just returned from an amazing 5 day stay at El Castillo. The views from this villa are unbeatable with 360 degree views over 2 different valleys - Frigiliana to the front of the villa and Torros Valley to the rear. The pool and grounds are absolutely perfect (although there were no umbrellas so we had to go under the veranda for shade).

    We had a daily visit from a pair of beautiful eagles who flew within touching distance of us over the valley which added to our spectacular holiday at this villa. If you are looking for total peace and relaxation then this is definitely worth a visit but probably not if you like being in the hustle and bustle of a tourist filled resort as a car is essential to get around. For us it was the perfect break and will take some beating!
